About Takes
Who runs Takes
Takes is an individual’s project: one person runs it, no company is behind it, and nothing on it is for sale.
Claims about what players think rarely show their evidence. Here every number sits next to the player words it was counted from.
What we’ve counted
- Crimson Desert: 526,969 readings across 27 topics.
- GunZ: The Duel: 1,441 readings across 7 topics.
A reading is one player’s side on one topic, so one player can appear under several topics. A player is one Reddit, Steam or YouTube account: one person with two accounts counts twice.
The rules behind every number
Counts come first. A percentage is always shown with the count it came from and says what it is out of. A bare “% positive” never appears.
Four sides, kept apart. Positive, Negative, Mixed and No side are never folded into one score. A question alone is not a side.
Missing is not zero. When something cannot be shown, the page says what is missing.
The words are the players’. The side next to each quote is our reading of the player’s words, so you can check one against the other.
Player fixes are counted, never judged. When players post a fix, Takes shows it and counts who said it worked for them. Whether it works is never our claim.
All the rules are on How we count.
Sources and credit
The feedback counted here comes only from public posts on Reddit, Steam and YouTube. Takes also keeps server request logs and emails you send; see Privacy.
Quotes are credited to their platform and link to the original post where the platform gives a link. Reddit and YouTube quotes show the author’s public name where the platform shows one; Steam reviewers are never named. YouTube quotes carry the YouTube logo, which links to the original on YouTube.
The words belong to the players who wrote them; Takes only groups and counts them. What is stored about players is on Privacy.
Removal
If you wrote something quoted here, Request removal by email and include a link to the page you saw it on. No reason is needed.
We reply within 7 days and remove quoted words within 7 days of a request. Once removed, your words are no longer shown on any page here.
Removal clears the stored post text and translations and removes its associated readings from counts. A record keeps the post from being collected again; separate account and attribution records can remain. Privacy explains what remains and how to ask for all posts from a source account to be removed.
Deleting a post where you wrote it does not remove it here automatically, so please send a request as well.
Unofficial fan project
Takes is not affiliated with the games’ publishers, Reddit, Valve or Google. For Crimson Desert, in Pearl Abyss’s requested wording: “This is unofficial content which contains copyrighted materials and IP from Pearl Abyss, and is not official/endorsed content.”
The terms for using Takes are on Terms.
