130h into the game, my save got bugged by an update and now I only have 50 inventory spaces.

When you have a save file that has completed the main story, the prompt appears right when you select New Game at the title menu, and it asks if you want to transfer that stuff or start fresh.

You can always start a new save file, try it out and decide from there. That way, you don't lose any of your progress and you can always switch back.
